Release history:
15 September 2020: Attaché 20.1.3 is now available.This version addresses an issue (FD-2986) where the product_transactions ODBC view was not created
12 August 2020: Access Attaché 20.1 is now available for general release.
The Attaché 20.1 suite includes Attaché Database Server and desktop application as well as Attaché Asset Management and an updated Data Migration Utility.
Notes:
- Asset Management version 20.1 is a required upgrade for compatibility with the main 20.1 application. It includes changes for automated posting to the general ledger.
- When launching Attaché 20.1 for the first time, the Menu style (in User Preferences) for all users will be reset to Modern Style. Users on old-style menus cannot access automated general ledger postings, the Accounts Dashboard and other recent features. Note also that the Tree Menu style is no longer available.
- See Attaché 19.2 (November 2019) release information for information on changes to Cloud Connector and Backup Scheduler that were introduced in version 19.2.
Supported versions of Windows operating systems:
- Attaché 20.1 has been tested on Windows Server 2019 and found to be compatible
- Attaché 20.1 runs on all Microsoft-supported versions of the Windows operating system (as per the Microsoft Windows lifecycle fact sheet). Microsoft support for all versions of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 ended in January 2020, therefore we no longer support these operating systems.
Technology update:
There are no additions to the Antivirus exceptions list for Attaché 20.1.
Third-party integrations
As always, any third-party integrations should be tested prior to installing:
- YearOne's PowerLink version 4.45 is compatible with Attaché BI version 3.7 or later, including Attaché 20.1
- EmpLive has released an updated Employee Masterfile import that is compatible with Attaché BI version 3.6 or later, including Attaché 20.1
- SalesMatrix version 5.2 and SalesSWOT version 1.20 are compatible versions for Attaché BI version 3.6 or later, including Attaché 20.1.

Essential upgrade tasks
Essential tasks for every upgrade
Before you upgrade, please ensure you first:
- Read the release notes and any associated release documentation, including Known Issues, available on the Attaché Members website)
- Read the Attaché Upgrade Instructions
- Post any outstanding transactions to the general ledger
- Take a backup of your Attaché data.
After you upgrade, please ensure you:
- (After you upgrade Attaché Database Server) open the MS Services console and check that all Attaché services are enabled and running
- Update your antivirus exceptions. See the Antivirus exclusions list to see if there are any additional files to include.
Essential tasks for this release
Some releases require you to carry out particular tasks or be aware of particular changes either before or after you upgrade. To check if this is necessary, first identify your current version of Attaché (choose Help | About Attaché) and then find your current version in the list below:
Your current version: Attaché 18 or Attaché 19
- There are no additional essential tasks if you are upgrading from any version of Attaché 18 or Attaché 19.
Your current version: Attaché BI
