Attaché Payroll (Fiji)

Ability to submit PAYE details by using the new Fiji Tax Certificate Lodgement file

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) has introduced a new method for businesses to submit PAYE details via the Taxpayer Online Service (TPOS) portal. Attaché Payroll for Fiji now creates a Fiji Tax Certificate Lodgement file for this purpose. You can use the file to submit your PAYE details via the portal rather than manually entering the details for each employee.

The Fiji Tax Certificate Lodgement file is automatically generated at the same time as the EMS file , and there is no change to the process of generating files to meet you FRCS filing obligations. Note that the file can report on employees with the new 10-digit Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

The file generated by Attaché Payroll is in CSV format and saved to the Destination Path when Generate EMS File is selected in . You can open the CSV file (for example, in MS Excel) and add or alter it before uploading to the TPOS portal, or you can upload the file and then update individual records in the portal before submitting the report. In this way you can add employee details that are not captured in Attaché Payroll and therefore not in the new Tax Certificate Lodgement file, such as the Redundancy payment approval number, Lump sum payment approval number, and Other one-off payment approval number. (Note that these fields are not mandatory reporting fields.)

To see a list of the mandatory and optional fields included in the file, see Fiji Tax Certificate Lodgement file.

Ability to record 10-digit TINs (Fiji)

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) is now issuing a 10-digit Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Previously, these were 9 digits.

To accommodate this, the employee masterfile in Attaché Payroll has been updated to allow you to enter 10 digits in the Tax Identification Number field, and these are displayed in the PAYE Employee Certificate report. You can also now filter by Employee 10-Digit TIN in the Employer Monthly Schedule and PAYE Employee Certificate reports. (Note that the EMS file has not been updated to include the 10-digit TIN because EMS reports with 10-digit numbers will not be accepted by the FRCS.)
